Benjamin Swan, Augusta {Maine}, C.1825, 8-day rolling moon tall clock, with painted, moon phase dial, housed in a mahogany and birch case, having a pierced fret trim atop the hood, and accented with 3 brass finials. Reeded quarter columns with brass capitals flank the waist door, and the plinth with scalloped apron and French feet. 2-weight. the heavy and well made case has been nicely refinished. The movement has been cleaned, re-cabled. Retains period pendulum and good filled tin can weights. The condition of the painted dial is excellent to outstanding. Dial with calendar aperture above 6 and seconds hand below 12. Several small bits of the fret are lacking. Ht 95"
