French, Marti et Cie, Circa 1900, 8-day time and gong strike brass and enamel crystal regulator mantel clock, w/ original 2-vial compensating pendulum; multi color enamel trim on case top, bottom and bezel, and with matching polychrome wreaths on the dial. case with double reeded columns at all corners. Case in as found condition in need of cleaning. Beveled glass panels are perfect. Original porcelain dial has a tiny chip at the strike side winding arbor and the brass grommet is missing [still looks ok]. Hands, pendulum and hardware are original. Well made rack strike movement with Marti Gold Medal award medallion for year 1900. Ht 12.5"
