the little 3rd element of the bottom trefoil has been missing for some time. Some areas of the case are polished to base metal, and some bubbling under the nickel finish on top. Otherwise the clock is in very good original condition. For reference, see Ly's book on Ansonia clocks, page 385. Cast into the case are 2 ladies in the front (one pulling a boat onto the shore), a hunter and dog one side and family consolation on the other This uses Ansonia's large round movement with rack striking. Ly lists this item at $1200, however we sold a gilt version a year ago for $753.75 Our estimate reflects condition. Ht 15.5"
