Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. "No. 5 1/2 Hanging Belgrade", ca 1880.

Extraordinary Ash wood case, the color of medium oak, grooved designs all over the front and sides. Note the two dial boards and pendulum are also covered with grooved designs of various shapes and sizes. This model has black dials with gold numbers and lettering, and the calendar rolls are black with gold lettering. The collector who owned these clocks was persnickety about his clocks both in appearance and functionality. Note the clean cases, movements, and they are all running. The ash case is 37" tall, has many delicate wood parts that are easily broken or lost. To the best of our knowledge everything is correct on the clock and there are no glaring repairs or breaks. The dials are very unusual, they look like glass, and are original to the clock as is everything else. This is a rare model and I cannot find a recorded sale at any of the east coast auctions. The last one we sold was in the January 2008 auction, bringing over $8500. Ly-Calendar, page 139.
