Waltham Clock Co. banjo, ca 1928.
Waltham did not give it a fancy name, just "No. 1550". The mahogany case is 40" high, in excellent overall condition, brass eagle, side rails, and bezel. The glasses depict "Perry's Victory", they are both near perfect with no paint loss. The brass sash needs to be polished, has turned black where handled all the time. Bowed glass over the painted dial. The dial is signed and the hands are correct. The 8 day weight driven movement is signed, "Waltham Watch and Clock Co.", retaining the Geneva lock. The tie down screw is missing. The top mount of the wood frame for the throat glass has a crack in the wood. The crack is hidden behind the dial. Original brass bob, wood pendulum stick, and metal baffle in the weight chute. Note the similarity between this clock and the Seth Thomas clock at No. 106 in this catalog.
