An interesting clock for historical reasons, not for the clock itself. I first thought it was a reproduction case because the light oak case was so rubbed out and cleaned. On the back of the case is the factory mark indicating it was made in 1889. The brass movement, pendulum, weight, dial and hands, are all ST original stock and in excellent condition, with a smidgen of paint loss on the dial. Inside in the usual place is a black ST label. It has been overpasted with a label that says in part, "B. M. Boyce (Benjamin/Son in Law of Daniel Pratt, Jr.) Daniel Pratt's Sons". After the death of Daniel Pratt, Jr., Benjamin Boyce and Daniel Ford Pratt continued the Pratt business. Pratt (the son) withdrew in 1880 and Boyce continued the Pratt business alone in Boston, Mass. I can find no research indicating he ever sold Seth Thomas clocks, or anyone else's clocks, but here it is. NAWCC Bulletin, June 1996, page 320. See also clock No. 15 below. Both came from the same collector.
