Imported tubular chime hall clock by Charles Jacques, New York. During his long career importing and selling clocks in New York he imported English Elliott clocks, German clocks he sold as Elite, and many other named clocks.
He went on his own in 1915 selling imported hall clocks labeled with his name and with his copywrited "Jacques" tubular chimes. He held numerous clock patents and made many styles of hall clocks. This mahogany hall clock is 80" tall, including the finial. I am not sure the finial has always been on this case. I would prefer the clock without it. Two large glasses in the front door, long glasses each side, hinged door each side of the movement, full turned columns, and a key locking in the door with a key. Moon phase, silver dial plate is etched all over, silver ring with raised brass numerals, 3 original hands, and is signed, "Jacques". Adjusting lever on the left side of the dial for, "Silent-Hour Str"; bottom lever for, "ChimeSilent"; and right side lever for, "Westm-Trinity". There are six nickel tubular chimes, I only pictured one leaning against the case, along with the three large brass weights, brass bob, and nickel rod. It is complete in all respects and in good running condition. When installing the tubes, the longest tube is on the right when facing the clock.
