Mahogany cross banded case is 40" long, has a brass eagle, brass bezel holding a convex glass, brass side rails, and gold painted trim on the base. Painted dial is signed, "E. Howard and Co. / Boston", so is the 8 day movement. The movement and several places on the wood case have the number "500" inscribed. The clock is perfect and has all the accessories you would find on an original, early 1900's banjo, such as, brass bob, pendulum tie down, winding key, iron weight, door latches, etc. This model is referenced in several of Tran Duy Ly's clock books, see his "American Clocks", page 124.
