E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. wall regulator, ca 1874.
Identical clocks were sold with labels by Seth Thomas, F. Kroeber, and others, by the "American Clock Company, New York", who were agents for these clock companies and many others, and who had branch offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. It is assumed that one company made all the cases and ST and other companies used their own movements, or in the case of Kroeber bought movements from ST. The companies also used their own dial and glass, either plain or with designs. The 8 day time only movement is signed by Welch and running properly. This cleaned/polished walnut case is 37" high, complete and original including the pendulum. The dial pan is original, paper is a replacement. On the back is an original Welch paper label.
