This clock is for the collector who likes their clocks clean and polished and has a nice furniture sheen. Some former owners had it cleaned and rubbed out many years ago and kept it in their home for many years before we acquired it. We sold it about 67 years ago for almost $12,000. That owner is now downsizing his collection of large clocks as we will all do eventually, so it is now available for another collector of fine clocks. The wood and brass has been polished, the brass lacquered, and the case is clean inside and outside. If you want a dark, smoky case with a crusty finish, you sure do not want this one. This is for the collector who wants their clocks to look like their other furniture. It has a perfect 12" porcelain dial, original hands, two door hooks, and a lock with key. The quarter sawn oak case is around 8 feet tall. If you ceiling is only 8 feet tall, remove the two finials. Ly Waterbury No. 788.
