The longer I examine and research clocks the more confused I get. This rare case is 14.5" high, yet the books say the mosaic models are 15" high and the plain cases are 14.5" high. I do know cases come with the mosaic patterns in different places on the case. This clock has a label on the back of the door that says, "Elias Ingraham's Patent / May 30, 1871". Inside is a complete paper label, and it says, "Elias Ingraham's Patents 1862 and 1868". The rosewood veneered case is very nice, and all original. The old dial has some wear and a few flakes, the hands, brass bob, gong, and winding key, all look proper for this clock. The 8 day movement is signed and strikes the coil gong on the hours. Ly-Ingraham, page 258.
