Named for Giuseppe Verdi's Italian Opera, "Aida". Now you can impress everyone with your knowledge of opera. Do you recognize the name "Verdi"? A Welch wall clock was named for Verdi. This is a fine looking clock, an equal to some of Seth Thomas's City Series clocks. Black walnut case is 21.5" high, has some nice carvings and other nice case work, and the case has a great polished finish. Near perfect glass, pressed glass pendulum, original two piece painted dial, nickel dial rings and gong base, but the hands are not a match. Two labels on the back, some paper loss and they are worn making them a little hard to read. 8day movement is running and striking the gong on hours and half hours. Ly-Welch No. 413.
