Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. mantle clock, the "Keystone", ca 1879. The 8 day movement is signed, running, and striking a coil gong. An old bob and key are included. This is a rare model, the first I have seen. The 18" walnut case has an accumulation of smoke on the case. The case is original, including the ornaments and glasses. The inside backboard is covered with wall paper with printed designs, no names, dates, etc. There is an original cardboard dial. I have not seen that before, either. On the back is about 75 percent of a paper label. Ly-Gilbert No. 1030.
