Octagon case is 11" on the back edge, rounded on top with a 7" dial, brass sash and flat glass. Bezel is hinged, has a catch on the left side. Three hands, seconds hand suspect, numerals were highlighted. Dial is signed, "Ansonia / 8 Day Time / The Ansonia Clock Co., Manufacturers, U.S.A." No evidence there was ever a label on the back, oak case cleaned of any black residue, so our collector may have cleaned the label remnants off at the same time. He had a house full of nice clocks, but he was not your normal collector. He collected one day clocks as well as eight day, he highlighted many dial numerals, he did not hesitate to put a new bob in a clock, and he cleaned his cases but did not put any polish/feeder back on the wood. Each to his own. Ly-Ansonia, page 207.
