A very different iron clock that has a frieze on the top depicting what men do best, kill each other. Normally these friezes have Roman scenes, this one is much earlier. Three metal columns on each end round out the ornaments for this clock. Nice sash with a flat glass over the pressed dial ring. Correct hands and an open escape mechanism in the inner section. Most all of the clocks in this NY collection has been restored, new paint on the iron and the ornaments. Correct back door, pendulum, Cathedral gong, and 8 day signed movement. Running and striking half hours and hours. Ly-Ansonia No. 1066.
