The 22" high oak case is very smoky dirty, never cleaned. Great glass featuring a pair of birds, correct pendulum, original signed dial, and good hands. It has an alarm movement that sounds on a bell, and an 8 day movement that is running and strikes a Cathedral gong. Gilbert called this case, elaborately carved. I cannot imagine there was much carving going on, more like pressed designs with a hydraulic press. Not a bad old clock, just need a lot of cleaning. LyGilbert No. 1238.
