French, J.L. Reutter ATMOS clock, atmospheric driven time only movement with torsion pendulum designed using mercury inside a glass tube similar to that of a thermometer to react to sensitive changes in temperature and atmospheric conditions, nickel plated case and Arabic numeral painted dial, serial No. 5398 c1930 the clock is not running. It was left on the mantel after the pendulum was released for two full weeks and would not continue. The case has some light oxidation and the dial is in fair condition with some minor loss to the paint. Reutter sold the patent to LeCoultre Watch Company, and they began manufacture of the redesigned Atmos clock soon after the completion of this clock. Note also that this clock was hand carried to us, and should either be picked up at the auction hall or picked up at our office a few days after the sale. We do not recommend shipping.
