Mahogany case with old finish and few small losses and chips, Nicely turned columns and carved capitals. Original glasses retained with old putty. Lower colorful scene has few small losses. Top glass, old and wavy, has 1" crack at top left. Bottom gold-tone painting of gentry in classical rural setting. Original paper label, still light and legible, with small flakes missing. Painted wood dial with gilt gesso in very good condition. Distinctive movement with rack and snail striking on gong. Height 34 inches.
