the movement is well built and robust. the case is refinished with top trim and lower trim around base added at a later date. The tablet is restored and the dial is repainted. William E. Hadlock was born in Lowell, MA in 1845 and died in Wenham, MA in 1915. He was primarily known as a marine chronometer maker and we sold an example of one of his chronometers in our April sale of 2010 for $1840 (includes 15% buyer's premium). He also made a limited number of high grade clocks that rarely come to market. This is a finely restored example with documentation included. Height 39 inches
