the case has some veneer chips and loss, filled in with black paint. The very top to cover the bells is removable for transport / bell adjust, has corner chip. The dials have been nicely re-silvered. The back plate of the movement is profusely covered with floral engraving and with the name and city of the maker, as in the headline. Movement was serviced not too long ago and is chiming / striking. This is a heavy clock; courier transport recommended. Overall very good condition. Ht 40"

With a very large and robust movement, with round silvered dial containing in its center a Halifax rolling moon, days of the week dial to left and a simple calendar dial (1-31) to the right. Playing the Westminster tune on 4 large and deep toned bells, and striking the hours on an extra large cathedral gong. The balloon shaped case with floral carving to the front, c1869 the case has some veneer chips and loss, filled in with black paint. The very top to cover the bells is removable for transport / bell adjust, has corner chip. The dials have been nicely re-silvered. The back plate of the movement is profusely covered with floral engraving and with the name and city of the maker, as in the headline.
