Southern Clock Co., 8 day spring driven time and strike calendar shelf clock. The movement in this clock was made by Gilbert. They could have supplied the movement or the whole clock to the Southern Clock Co, c1875 rosewood veneer and grain painted case in an old finish in nice condition. Some minor veneer loss on the case. A small veneer repair to the top cornice. A little loss to the graining on the top cornice. Some of the veneer on the door has been replaced with mahogany. Original paper dial has turned a little brown from age. Hands look to be original. Tablet is original. Movement is made by Gilbert. Ht 25"
