there are several nicks and scrapes to the ebonized case, a couple of chips to basewood on rear, chips to black finish along base moldings, and some small gaps where moldings have shrunk. Interestingly, the home office of Frisch Schierwater and Co was in Freiburg, Germany, and the governor cock on the movement is engraved with their name and city "Freiburg", while the dial cartouche bears "L'pool". The large, robust and well made movement is complete and sound; would benefit from a cleaning. Some surface rust on gongs. The deeply engraved and silvered chapter ring bears Roman numerals for the hours and with Arabic 5 minute markers, and fancy trim between the numerals. Overall good as found condition; still needs thorough restoration.. Ht 28"
