the case retains its outstanding original finish. The dial has minor flaking around time side arbor whose grommet is absent. The label is in excellent condition and has been photographed with calendar mechanism removed. Alfonzo Boardman was granted a patent July 2, 1867 for a calendar clock which had the month and date on a long fabric strip and was rewound annually This is an excellent example of this very rare clock. For reference please see page 34 in Tran Du Ly's book "Calendar Clocks". Ht 23"
