E.S. Moulton, Rochester, New Hampshire tall case clock with 8 day time and strike brass movement in Lunette cherry case. The painted metal dial with second hand, calendar and rocking ship has painter Spencer and Nolan, Washington, St label on rear, c1805 the case has a very old refinish and is signed with maker's signature and "NO 42". The fine fret work on hood is original with a glue repair. There is a split in the base with some restorations. The movement has typical NH style cutout. The dial has some oxidation on arch with rocking ship but is in otherwise excellent condition with fabulous Spencer and Nolan label still legible and mostly intact on backside. The weights, hands and pulleys are original. E. S. Moulton was later listed as clockmaker in Saco, Maine. Ht 90"
