Birge, Mallory and Co, Bristol, Conn., 8 day weight driven time and strike mahogany column and cornice shelf clock, c1840 the imposing case has been nicely refinished, and retains its original paper label. There are a few small veneer repairs and losses. Glass and mirror putty in door looks old, and top glass is bubbly. Original painted dial has some wood showing, and has a little mirror panel that lifts up to reveal escape wheel. Large strap brass movement should be cleaned. The lower glass is a proper style repaint. Ht 37"
