Movement and dial, Timothy Tregoe, Great Marlow, English brass 30 hour time and strike weight driven, square dial, one hand, c1770 this early posted movement has its striking train behind the time train, and a rear count wheel The continuous chain has its lead donut counterweight and pulley, but no weight and no pendulum. The top mount bell is old, and the engraved brass dial with listed maker name is in nice condition. The wood seatboard is modern. The movement, with anchor escapement, appears complete and will function, but not tested with weight and pendulum. The single steel hour hand is old. Tregoe worked at Great Marlow from c1769-1798. This movement early in his career, c1770. Dial is 9" square.
