Atkins, Whiting and Co., "Parlor No. 1" with a Type III 30 day, wagon spring movement shelf clock, c1852
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
Rosewood veneered case in original finish. Original top tablet with some very minor loss. Bottom tablet is a period mirror, that looks to be original as mirrors were used on these as well as gold design glass and a wood panel. Part of the mirror's center has been removed by a later owner to show the pendulum. Hands are original. Case houses a 30 day, type III decorative scroll design movement with a mixture of brass and tin wheels. Original painted dial has loss at the winding holes, center area, and at the mounting screws. This seems to be a problem with Atkins, Whiting and Co. dials in general. Ht 17.75"
