Pons Bronze Clock w/Mermaid & Merman

Pons Bronze Clock w/Mermaid & Merman Also marked Farret A Paris with a bell strike movement and a porcelain dial marked Marquis A Paris. The hands are very fancy and look original. The painted black wooden case is topped with bronze putti figures. A bronze mermaid and merman like figures support the case. Around the dial and back door there are wave like shapes. The design around the front glass includes a crab and shells. On each side is a face with acanthus leaf hair and beard and curled ram horns. The wooden base is framed in bronze with leaf shapes. There is an old size 14 key marked France with the clock. Farret dates from 1840 - 1870. (The clock does not run or strike at this time.) Dial - 8" Diameter; Total clock size - 29 1/2" Tall x 19 1/2" Wide x 8 1/2" Deep.
