the top 9" trim is solid walnut, and from an American wall clock; looks very good, but not original; entire case refinished to blend caramel color. The well made Becker movement is clean and striking fine, counting both the quarters and hours on two melodious straight steel gongs. Hands are original. A strong and later case hanger has been added to the back (an improvement, as it is a heavy clock). The door has a dry split around 11 position, and minor nicks commensurate with its age. Very decorative. Ht 53"
