overall very good original condition. Strikes the hours and quarters on two coiled gongs. The day, date and month are carried on revolving annular rings above the time movement. There is some loss to the paint on the date rings. The porcelain dial has a blue cast to it, which seems original, and is signed for the maker. The front mask has a hand painted tole pattern around the calendar openings. Everything appears original as made mid 19th century. A sister to this clock can be viewed in "A Century of Fine Carriage Clocks". by Fanelli and Terwilliger (1987), page 208-209. Our clock bears the makers name and city engraved on the rear cover to the calendar. Beveled glass is all good. Ht 9 1/4" or 23.5cm
