This heavy instrument, designed by watchmaker Henry Abbott in 1897 and made in various forms for decades after, may have been the first time printer and was invented to time pool hall usage, but its principle usage became the timing of long distance telephone calls. The mechanical models had twin-spring Seth Thomas balance wheel movements. This unit is in good condition, with one scratch on the silvered dial, but we have not tested its operation. 9" diameter overall
