The golden oak German clock, made by Winterhalder and Hofmeier and fancier than most, is nicely finished. Its silvered dial and case brass bezel have slight tarnish; the beveled glass is fine; the stamped movement needs service, ht 9". The Herschede has an old surface on its dark mahogany, and its dial has been polished to worn brass. The bezel appears to be newer. Its signed movement ticks and strikes on two rods, ht 8 3/4"
