the mahogany case has been nicely refinished. Period dial may be original to the case and has always been drilled for the alarm. The original numerals are still bright and clearly legible. Weights are proper replacements, however the alarm weight drops along the outside of the case. Bell, standard and hammer are replacements. All 3 hands are original, and quite special, the hour hand fitted to a square hub and the alarm hand fitted to the outer cannon barrel. Angle top Movement is clean and running /alarming; note similarity in design to A. Willard, Jr. Note the front plate of the Movement bears the inscription: "Cleaned by E. Taber, Sept 19, 1846, April 24, 1847". Movement mounts to backboard with center screw. Ht 33"
