Walter Durfee, Providence, Rhode Island, "Tall Case" clock, 8 day, time, strike moon phase and calendar, weight driven movement in a mahogany case with four rope twisted columns on hood and large ornately carved finial, string brass inlay on door and trunk flanked by fluted columns on trunk over a base with four recessed panels and stylized shoe feet. The silvered brass dial has raised plaque with Durfee signature, four cast brass spandrels, raised Roman numeral chapter ring and engraved floral dial center, c1880 the case retains its original finish with minor nicks and scuffs with one portion of string brass inlay absent on trunk. The dial has significant oxidation to the silvering and paint loss to the moon phase disc. The seat board is now anchored to the rear of the case with metal brackets and rests on later risers. Ht 93"
