Austrian, earlier Vienna timepiece, a "Biedermeier" of longer duration [5 wheels in train and winds left] in a burled elm case, one piece porcelain dial and engine pattern cast bezel, c1840 overall a good period clock, with following items needing attention: front glass [not old] is cracked and needs replacing; brass hanger for pendulum has been moved several times and thereby made extra holes in the case. Note the movement mounting bracket lines up with its 4 original holes and there are no extras there. Early pendulum with brass bob, front and back. Top is built on/in and is original. Ht 40"
