the very low serial number 7957 is on the signed movement of this clock which probably was specially made for the well-known Manhattan jewelry store. The colorful old glasses have only a tiny bit of loss, and the old finish shows just a few nicks and scratches. The original painted metal dial, showing the retailer name in tiny letters, is worn and pitted. The brass side arms have an old patina, and the brass top finial also is old and may be correct, although it is a style more commonly found on long case clocks. Hands are replacements. No lower weight baffle; no sign that there ever was one. Ht 44"
