Case very good overall, with some haze on sides and back, one small chip in colored marble, at back left, one chip in front of left column, repaired long ago, the gilt and silvered engraving bright and clean, bronze finials and feet polished to brass, now tarnished, dial very good, minute hand painted gold, movement clean, ticks and strikes, a very nice example. William H. Glenny (1818-1883), a native of Northern Ireland, established a crockery and import business in Buffalo in 1840. In the 1870's he took his sons into the expanded business as W. H. Glenny and Sons and Co. After his death in 1883 his sons ran the business until dissolved in 1898. Ht 19 1/2"
