April 24, 1866", the case with ivy, acorn, oak leaf and deer head carvings in the manner of the Black Forest clocks it copies, original bird and bellows, wooden Roman numeral dial with carved bone hands c 1870 Case with repairs, right end of roof trim restored, leaf above deer head broken and reglued, case back may be replaced, one glue block replaced inside case, tip of minute hand broken and reglued, movement ticks and strikes, pendulum replaced and its back drilled in an attempt to reduce its weight, one cuckoo lever repaired, the wire which causes the bird to nod, open his beak and flap its wings is missing, but is a simple fix. Frankfield was in New York. His patent consisted of adding two brass plate extensions and an additional wire arm to actuate the second bellows. His cases were American-made, not German imports.
