this heavy and beautifully carved instrument has the length and look of an older mercury unit, but the barometer is the later bellows type. The thermometer, indicating two scales, is mercury. Overall condition is very good, with a soft patina on the wood, silvered dials showing just small tarnish areas, and fine beveled glass. Ht 40"
