Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., private label for Tilden-Thurber Co., "Commander" time only 8 day brass and mahogany mantel clock, 8.5" dial, 1905

according to Demeter (p.170), time-only versions of this model are scarce, as are the larger sizes, and this rectangular movement's serial number of 16032 places it near the beginning of production. The silvered "Special" dial with applied bronze numbers has toned, but faint letters remain revealing the clock's provenance as the "Recorder of Deeds, Providence". There are old surfaces on the brass and wood; a proper seconds bit needs to be fit. The movement ticks briskly. Ht 14"
