Baird Clock Co., Plattsburgh, NY, "J.P. Becker's Department Bazaar" miniature advertising wall clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement in wooden case with paper mache doors and paper dial, c1893 this is a very rare miniature Baird advertising clock. The case is in excellent original condition with original label and dial. The movement appears to be the right type for this clock manufactured by LaPorte Hubbell but it has a thin piece of plywood underlying to raise the movement to the proper height. This riser may be a replacement. The movement also has "F. KROEBER" filed off which according to Jerry Maltz has been seen in other Baird clocks (see page 177 in Maltz's "Baird Advertising Clocks". This specific clock is pictured in Jerry Maltz's "Baird Advertising Clocks" on pages 18 and 19 and was in Mr. Maltz's collection for many years. Ht 26"
