E. Howard and Co., Boston, Mass., "Kosmic" wall clock version of the Regulator No. 70", 8 day, time only, weight driven movement adapted to display 24 hours with Roman numerals, 1 - 12, and Arabic numerals, 13 - 24, on twelve painted rotating wooden blocks. The walnut case is stamped "14" on the top of the case and wooden bezel with a painted metal dial signed "KOSMIC E. HOWARD and CO. BOSTON Pat'd June 9th '85", c1886 the case retains its original finish and is lacking the bottom with a replaced backboard and replaced mirror tablet. The dial and rotating blocks retain their original paint with minor flaking on the dial between 9 and 10. We have sold another example of the Kosmic in 2008 for $21,500 plus 12.5% buyer's premium. There were believed to be only 6 Kosmics made previously, this unknown example now come to market, stamped "14", may mean further research is necessary. Ht 29"
