Ansonia Clock Co., Ansonia, Conn., "Regulator No. 14" variant wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven Swiss pinwheel deadbeat movement with sweep seconds and a mercury pendulum in a walnut case with white enamel dial, c1883 the case retains its excellent original finish. The back of the inner case has been restored with a burled walnut laminate and the movement remounted about 1 3/4" below arch in door to allow for the movement and pendulum combination to fit the case properly. The dial has an enamel repair around the center arbor. There is a flake in the glass on the center jar on the pendulum. In researching this variant, which differs slightly from the image on page 175 in Tran Duy Ly's reference "Ansonia Clock and Watches" we found matching examples on the internet. Ht 84"
