Brown), Bristol, Conn., 30 hour FUSEE, time and strike, rosewood sharp gothic or steeple clock, c1845 Rosewood veneered case in a very old and possibly original finish with loss on the base and some lifting of the brittle veneer on the moldings. Original signed painted dial with some loss and inpainting in the flaked areas that doesn't quite match the existing paint. Hands and tablet are original. Minute hand has been repaired. Tips on the spires have some damage. We have never seen this combination of a movement stamped: "C. Boardman, Bristol, Conn. " in a J.C. Brown case. Another unusual feature is the eight day label inside the case, incorrectly applied by a rushed worker. Ht 20"
