the case has an old finish. The rear portion of the left broken arch has been broken and repaired. There are portions of the Greek Key design on upper molding absent on corners and sides. The reeded corner column on left side of base and base front are split. The flat molded lower portion of base is an old replacement. The two cast iron weights are early but mismatched. The pendulum is a custom replacement. The crank key is period. Movement c. 1750; may be original to case or case may be a decade or two later. Case is oak. Hands too late for this period.Ht 87 1/2"
