Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Office Drop Calendar" walnut 8 days, time only, wall clock with Maranville style rotating calendar, c1881 the fancy case appears to have its original finish with some minor scuffs and scratches, minor loss to black accent around bezel. The glasses look old. The bezel shows a few age cracks. The paper dial is worn, lifting and has some minor edge tears; the printed calendar days and months are good. The two black hands are too short. There is a nice inside label with gold lettering. Gilbert avoided conflict with the Galusha-Maranville patent by changing the dials to card-stock, advanced with a small pointer inserted into holes, rather than the winding key advance on the Galusha metal dials.
