this oversize rare model is shown as Figure 139 on page 127 of Chris Bailey's "Two Hundred Years of American Clocks & Watches", showing one from the collection of the American Clock and Watch Museum. The etched glasses are the same, but this painted metal dial has an open center to view the signed brass works, unlike the example in the book's photo. Note top glass over dial is a replacement. The overall condition is very good, with the entire surface covered in this exotic grained veneer. The bottom paper label is missing about 20%. Ht 40"
