the little screws retaining the movement in the case are absent (use care when handling!) but otherwise the ornate case and complicated movement appear to be in good condition. The balance platform, signed "T. Marlin & Co., 151 Regent St., London", may be later, and is intact but needs cleaning. The signed porcelain dials both look fine; one side glass panel has a small round chip, and the top glass needs to be secured. The movement back plate also carries this famous Swiss maker's name. The case retains its pivoted plate to cover the winding and setting holes. The quarter-hours and hour counts are struck on a sweet rear bell. Ht to handle top 5.75"
