France, large grand sonnerie striking carriage clock with sweep seconds, polished brass Corniche case with beveled glasses, Roman numeral white enamel dial with Arabic alarm chapter, blued steel Breguet style hands, week going brass movement with sweep seconds and silvered lever platform, striking on two gongs, silence, petit sonnerie or grand sonnerie may be selected using the lever at the bottom of the case, c1900 case polished and with coating of spray lacquer {some orange peel}, dial replaced {fired porcelain}, hands good, alarm hand may be replaced, rear glass with chip at upper left corner, gongs with minor oxidation, movement running, striking, and repeating correctly, alarm train functional, but spring is broken, the sweep second system appears to have undergone restoration, and is now functioning well. Note there are 3 empty pivot holes which remain a mystery. Ht 6 1/4" to top of handle
