the solid wood case has been nicely refinished, but the lower glass should be clear but has been painted with the Howard colors. The signed movement is serial number 1483 from the first years of Chelsea production. The painted metal dial has a yellowed coating of finish and the lettering is newer. The weight looks correct, the bottom portion of the pendulum unit may be more modern, and its tie-down is absent. The hands are a painted soft metal, not original. Ht 33"
